The Procedure

No anesthesia is required, although you can discuss with Dr. Skouras the option of numbing the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief.
Dr. Skouras will administer several tiny injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic directly into the muscles and you can expect marked improvement within days. Improvement could last up to 4 months. If you stop using BOTOX® you can expect the furrows and wrinkles to reoccur over time. The whole process takes just minutes and you leave the office with no downtime!
Limitations
Although BOTOX® is effective for treating wrinkles on several areas of the face, it does have some limitations. For instance, BOTOX® cannot address wrinkles due to aging or sun damage. BOTOX works by blocking messages to muscles, causing the muscles to relax and lessen the appearance of wrinkles. It can only treat wrinkles that are created through muscle activity.
